Day 1

Today we start with your pick up at the border or airport. We will take you directly to Granada where we will stay at the beautiful Hotel Dario. The rest of the day we will have time to relax from your travels.

Day 2

This morning your guide will show you the highlights of Granada. The tour includes beautiful old colonial buildings, museums and churches. You will be surprised with the history of this amazing Colonial City. We will have lunch at a restaurant in the garden of a Colonial house known for its grill. In the afternoon we will take a boat trip showing you the small islands of Granada in Lake Cocibolca. Private islands, local people, birdlife and even monkeys make this trip a must. Do you know about pirates and forts? After this trip you will know it all!

Day 3

We will drive to the city of León, visiting, on our way, the Ruins of León Viejo. These ruins are a great example of early colonization and declared a World Heritage Human Patrimonial site by UNESCO in 2000. We will also visit Lake Managua with amazing views of Momotombo volcano. After the ruins we will visit local factories which still produce originally designed colonial roof tiles and the ceramic village La Paz Centro. Here we will try the “quesillo” a tortilla with crème cheese, a local specialty.

Day 4

León is known as the more “liberal” city of Nicaragua. It is also home to the most students and is regarded as the intellectual centre. Once in León, we will tour the city and visit several museums and the Cathedral, which is the largest in Central America. After lunch in the central park, we will head to the beach where we will visit the National Reserve Isla Juan Venado, a mangrove forest with lots of flora and fauna, birds and wildlife. We will enjoy dinner on the beach as the sun sets before driving back to Leon.

Day 5

We are sorry to tell you but today we say goodbye. Transport to your hotel, fly back home or continue your trip with one of our many extensions!
